Being my first opportunity to start producing for people other than myself, "Yorick" was an incredible experience, and getting to produce, track, mix, and master it all means a lot to me. We didn't really know where it would lead, given it was Used to It's first official project. We started the whole thing in Used to It's apartment with a laptop, an old guitar, and a $40 audio interface. We started making some tracks that we really believed in, and before long we were recording vocals in my vocal booth (AKA my closet). Not much time after that, we were wrapping up the mastering for the project, and getting ready to set up publishing.
Used to It and I are really happy with the outcome, especially for this project being a lot of firsts for the both of us.
Give it a listen, and let us know what you think!
Oh and by the way, before you ask, we are already in the process of planning a full length Used to It LP. It'll still be a completely independent album with just a two-man crew, but my home studio has undergone a major overhaul, so we're expecting this next Used to It project to be leaps and bounds better than the "Yorick" EP─although we couldn't be more proud of the way it has turned out.
