Track 6 on my 2022 album Homebody, "Moving" is perhaps my simplest (and shortest) piece. When I compose, I often find myself drawn to virtuosic music, particularly enticed by rhythmic complexity and dramatically challenging runs. I joke with my colleagues that I like writing music that performers hate, but I suppose "Moving" shows a different side of me; sometimes simple and pleasant music is all I want from a piece.
